...Regarding the Doll family.

First off, there's this guy. He's recycled from Eliot's old design from two years ago.
His name is Wyatt H. Doll, and is now playing the role as Eliot's older brother. But that's not the big part. Instead of Eliot, he's going to be Angel and Elton's father. Why? It's just that Eliot's been changed too much over the years, he's no longer suited for the role. Wyatt is more stern and demanding, which would result in a harsher childhood for Angel and his brother. (But not abusive, mind you.)

Eliot gets to be the weird, but loving uncle - as he now doesn't have children of his own. Wyatt gets the wife to lose while Eliot spends for most of his life is alone, at least until the business with Lecter and then Victor - which also means he would have been scoring for the same team always. Something that would have stirred up some family problems, including resulting daddy issues.

So, Eliot's life gets less shitty, and instead of the negative relationship with Angel that has always been between them, they now have positive bonds. If Angel would have some sort of... weird attachment to someone despite his psychological condition, it would be to Eliot. It would be because Wyatt might have disowned Angel somewhat, after his diagnosis. So Angel turned to Eliot for positive vibes.

Another interesting thing that's changed, is that different from what's always been is that Elton gets to live. His story no longer ends by being killed by Angel - but why Angel faces a serious jail sentence will be a secret until further notice. Now it actually makes more sense for Eliot to help him in his situation due to their positive relationship, giving him an even better reason to turn to John Lecter for help, as Wyatt no longer would want anything to do with Angel.

Redford, (Eliot and Wyatt's father) doesn't have a significant role until after he gets involved in the-MadDog's story. Until then he works with confidential things in the Pentagon and by his own preference, stays out of the family situation.

This makes Eliot's life more realistic. and less depressing. It's unrealistic for someone to have such a shitty life with nothing good at all. Eliot having a positive relationship with Angel lightens things up for both of them. I can actually see another side of Angel besides his psychotic nature. I also agree this puts some steel bars against the reason why Eliot went to Lector. Eliot turned into one loyal uncle.

Are you and the-MadDog collaborating your stories now?

Sort of? My characters aren't really a major part of her story, so she works on her own otherwise.

I like your ideas. In light of this change, I can see the potential for some actual good to come out of Angel's troubled existence. Like Dr. House-type good.

I don't know. That's just wishful thinking. Angel's still the sexiest psycho ever.

I wonder if I'm the only one who get his gender mixed up. He looks like a woman!

I suppose he got late in-life homosexual desires after his wife passed away, which is normal. His sexuality might be unstable, or just restricted to Eliot  (meaning he has no interest in other men otherwise)

And with this update, Eliot was never closeted as his sexuality has always been known.

Give me a minute... Ah! Here we are:

"He used to admire the fact that for a small person that had went through a lot, he had been strong enough to go on, that might change a little now with the story being rewritten but I think it will still be part of it. Victor was alone since his wife died, too, and Eliot was around and cared about him, there's also the fact that Victor found out what Lecter had been doing to Eliot and he felt he needed to do something to help, which is where it all started. So it's a few things really." -the-MadDog
